Eligibility

Who can apply to become an accredited Registered Master Landscaper?

  • Be an individual or company who has been in business for a minimum of two years and can demonstrate excellence in the areas of expertise in the categories for which they are applying for accreditation, or is 

  • An Associate Member at the expiry of their two-year Associate Membership period who can demonstrate excellence in the areas of expertise in which they are applying

Categories of Expertise

Applications for accreditation can be submitted across one or more of the following categories of expertise.

Accredited areas of expertise will be noted on the annual certificate of membership and on member website profile.

  • Design (for built projects only)

  • Build (hardscape and softscape/installation)

  • Maintain

The Pathway to Accreditation

Registered Master Landscapers' accreditation process vets individuals or businesses in their ability to competently perform the services they advertise.

As part of this process, applicants will be required to submit client briefs, plans and photographs of two projects completed by the company within the previous two years.
 

  • The Application Fee is $100 excluding GST, and is non-refundable.

Annual Subscription Fees

If your membership commences part way through the year, the fee will be apportioned by quarters.

Fees are calculated based on your business's annual turnover

Associate Membership

 

Associate membership is designed as a stepping stone towards accredited membership and has a two-year time limit, by which time it is anticipated that the Associate member will be ready to apply for accreditation. (In addition, the status of accredited member businesses that experience a change in ownership reverts to that of Associate until their output under the new owners has been evaluated.)

Associate members are supported by a senior member mentoring programme to help promote to full accreditation status.

  • Stay connected with landscaping experts, business owners, and industry professionals

Eligibility

  • Individuals or companies who are new to the industry or new to the country
  • Students and apprentices who have successfully completed a recognised landscape qualification
  • Those who will eventually be eligible to apply for accredited membership after the two years maximum Associate membership period has elapsed

NOTE: Associate members are not permitted to use the Registered Master Landscapers logo and branding, nor advertise that they are accredited members of Registered Master Landscapers.

Though at this stage there is not a full assessment of your business's capabilities, you will nevertheless be required to provide an indication of the categories for which you will wish to be considered for Accredited membership.

Student/Apprenticeship Membership

Eligibility

Student or Apprentice currently engaged in landscape-related courses through a recognised institution (part or full time).

Registered Master Landscapers membership entitles students or apprentices to:

  • Free Project Entry to the Landscapes of Distinction Awards, Student Design Category
  • Be kept informed of Association activities
  • Attend regional meetups for networking for potential employment opportunities

Accredited Member

The online application process to become an Accredited Member is easy and quick to complete. Once an application is accessed and approved you will have immediate access to promote your business incorporating  the Registered Master Landscaper brand .  You can see more benefits of becoming an Accredited Member here.

To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be an individual or company who has been in business for a minimum of two years and can demonstrate excellence in the areas of expertise in the categories for which they are applying for accreditation, or is 

  • Is an Associate Member who is applying  to become a fully Accredited Member

Applications for accreditation can be submitted across one or more of the following categories of expertise.

  • Landscape Design
  • Landscape Build - Hardscape and Softscape
  • Landscape Maintenance.

Associate Member

Applications that do not meet the Association's criteria for fully accredited Accredited Membership will be assessed for Associate Membership.  To be considered for Associate membership, applicants must be landscape practitioners who are new to the industry (less than 2 years experience) and can demonstrate the capability to meet the criteria to become a fully Associate Member within  2 years, or are affiliated with the sector.
 

Membership Restriction

  • Only fully Accredited Members can promote their business incorporating the Registered Master Landscapers logo.

Student Membership

Students or apprentices who are currently engaged in landscape-related courses through a recognised institution, full or part-time are invited to join with an no annual fee.
 

Membership Application Fee

  • The Application Fee for all categories is $50 excluding GST, and is non-refundable.

Annual Subscription Fees

Registered Member: Fees are calculated based on members annual turnover gst excl.

  • Under $500,000 =             $750.00
  • $500,000 - $1,000,000 =  $1,500
  • Over $1,000,000 =            $2,000
  • Associate Member:           $300.00
  • All fees are gst exclusive.
