Registered Master Landscapers in association with Prebble Turf World are proud to announce the Young Landscaper of the Year Competition 2023
The competition offers significant opportunities for young, motivated landscapers to showcase their skills and compete alongside the best-emerging landscape professionals to become the 2023 New Zealand Young Landscaper of the Year.
Open to young landscapers throughout New Zealand, entrants do not have to be working for a Registered Master Landscaper to enter the competition.
The competitors swill meet in Dunedin on the 1st of September for the Competition Day – Practical testing and interviews including a sponsored BBQ lunch.
You are invited to drop by during the day to cheer on our amazing team of competitors. The competition starts at 8:00 am

Our Awards Gala Dinner on the 2nd of September 2023 is an opportunity for the industry to come together to celebrate and support the outstanding achievements of our finest emerging industry leaders as the winner of the Young Landscaper of the Year Competition and Outstanding Achievement Awards are announced.

Who is Eligible?
Entrants must:
- Be working in the landscape industry for a minimum of 3 years.
- Be 30 years of age or under on 31st December 2023.
- Candidates shortlisted must be prepared to participate in the Young Landscaper of the Year finals in Dunedin on 1st September 2023 as well as attend the Awards dinner on Saturday 2nd September 2023, Dunedin Town Hall
- The winner must also be available to take part in the Young Horticulturist of the Year orientation day in Auckland on 5th September 2023 and the Grand Final competition in Auckland on 7th & 8th November 2023.

- PlaceMakers Award - Outstanding Achievement in Construction and Practical Challenge $500 cash prize
- Outstanding Achievement - Emerging Leader Award - This Award recognizes an inspirational competitor who has demonstrated exceptional entrepreneurial spirit, innovation and/ or social/ environmental responsibility in the workplace $500 cash prize
- Outstanding Achievement - Excellence in Innovation Award - This Award recognizes an outstanding competitor who has demonstrated a significant contribution to their workplace through the introduction or improvement of a workplace-based technology, process or service. $500 cash prize
- Career Development Award - This Award recognizes an outstanding competitor who has demonstrated exceptional business operation and customer service skills $500 cash prize
- Outstanding Achievement in Communication - This Award recognizes an outstanding competitor who has demonstrated excellence in the development of content and delivery of their Landscape of the Year speech to Panel Judges. $500 cash prize

- One Year Affiliate Membership to Registered Master Landscapers.
- PLUS 1 x Complementary 2019 Registered Master Landscaper of the Year Gala Dinner Ticket.

Awards Gala Dinner
The 2023 Landscapes of Distinction Awards culminate in a grand celebratory Gala Dinner to be held at the Dunedin Town Hall on Saturday 2nd September 2023
Finalists will be recognised for their vision and skill on New Zealand Landscape projects - and the recipient of the prestigious Landscape of Distinction Landscape of the year (2023) will be announced.
